When you have a warehouse that is full of pallets, you need to wrap them up to keep the good safe as you transport the pallets within your warehouse and too far off destinations. The best way to achieve that is by wrapping your pallets up with stretch wrap. However, this is not a task that you are going to want to do completely by hand.

A semi-automatic stretch wrapper automates the process of wrapping up your pallets. With a semi-automatic stretch wrapper, the work that you do is greatly reduced. You have to start the wrapping process by attaching the film to the pallet, and then cut the film at the end and secure the lose end. However, the actually wrapping process will be taken care of by the semi-automatic stretch wrapping tool.

There are a few different types of semi-automatic pallet stretch wrappers. The three most common types of semi-automatic stretch wrappers are high profile wrappers, low profile wrappers, and rotatory arms.

Low-Profile

A low profile stretch wrapper is designed with a low turn-table for the wrapping action. A low turn-table for the wrapping is good because it makes the machine easier to move around.

With a low-profile stretch wrapper, you can attach a ramp to the machine in order to feed the pallet to the machine for wrapping. The pallet will go up the wrap, onto the turn table, where it will then be wrapped up. This can be great for wrapping up smaller groups of packaging.

High Profile

A high-profile machine actually sits low to the ground. This makes it really easy for you to use your forklift to place pallets on the turntable portion of the machine for wrapping. This is great if you have a forklift and are constantly moving around equipment.

Rotary Arm

A rotary arm is for businesses that have really heavy loads. With a low profile and high profile wrapper, a turn-table is used to move the pallet around and wrap it up. However, some loads are just too heavy for a turn-table. If your business generates a lot of heavy loads, you are going to need a rotary arm. With a rotary arm, the arm goes around the load, wrapping the film around the load, instead of the load being rotated.

If you have been hand-wrapping your pallets, speed things up at your business by investing in a semi-automatic pallet wrapped that will take most of the work out of the process. For most types of loads, a high or low profile semi-automatic wrapper will get the job done. For really large or heavy loads, you'll need a rotary arm instead though.
